Farewell to All

Well at least until Wednesday...tonight I will be seeing this hottie with a body in concert! Ahhh I absolutely loveeeee him! Tomorrow at 4am I'll be boarding a plane to go to Cancun with my 2 sisters. I've been updating my iPod like mad for the flight and I already have a fabulous plane outfit - I'm wearing these linen pants (good for both NY and Cancun) that have pockets like cargo pants (make it less formal) with a short sleeve white button down (but its a fun one) and my pink Polo sear sucker blazer. My shoes are like a cross between Keds and Vans, and they're Khaki and Pink. I know, you're all extremely proud. I was inspired from a Bloomingdale's Catalog. I'm going to leave everyone with this tres chic picture of the Eiffel Tower that I took myself when I went to Paris. Anyway, until Wednesday!!! =) Miss me!

Bookworm

Erm, hola to all. Turns out I got a bigger role than expected in the play, and the director WILL BE taking up ALL of my free time to rehearse. Woot to that. Today’s post is kinda all over the place, so try to stay with me!

I L<3ve>READiNG!
I had a phase in my younger days where I’d spent countless hours at Barnes and Noble, but since studying got hard and I had to read lots more for school, I barely had any time for fun reads. Recently, however, I’ve discovered some new books I really want to read or have read. Here are just a few books I think you should LOVE!

The Kite Runner by: Khalid Hosseini I am obsessed with this book. I read it this year for history, and I fell in love. It’s an amazing description about Afghanistan pre, post and during the rein of the Taliban. I think it’s a great book for anyone who isn’t ignorant, and it really teaches you a lesson. It puts things in perspective and teaches you how to appreciate your life, no matter how bad you may think it is. But beware, this book does HAUNT you and it stays with you FOREVER – trust me.

Night by: Elie Weisel I think that I love historically aware books. The author of this novel, Elie Weisel is an actual Holocaust survivor. I actually read this last year for history, and it is in the Oprah book club. It’s a book that shows you what people go through and it’s almost as good as the Kite Runner, but that book is definitely my all time fav.

On a fluffier note…

The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants Series by: Anne Brashares These books are about 4 completely different best friends that have jeans which magically fit all of them. Every time one of the girl’s wear the pants, something magical happens. The series is really girlie and fun, but addictive!

Gossip Girl Series by: Cecily von ZiegesarThese books are just so fun and fabulous! The girls are kind of like a lighter version of Carrie, Charlotte, Miranda and Samantha.

Hot Shiz That I Wish I HAD:

Chanel Clutch

It's beyond fabulous. It's like classic Chanel with a slight twist - I loveeeee it!
Caroline Carlisle EarringsThese are my dream earrings. They are so elegant and sophisticated, you can wear them with a simple black Audrey Hepburn dress and voila - the perfect look.

I might put up a few short posts within the next few days, since I’m leaving for Mexico on Friday and the Justin Timberlake concert is on Thursday. Until then, adios!

I Heart Tee Shirts!

I really do. Tee shirts are completely amazing in every way possible. You can dress them up or down and they can have just about everything in the world plastered across them. So, I've decided to pick a few qualified tee shirts to post about today!

This is where I got my inspiration for this post:I wish I had this tee shirt. I don't know where it's from, or who that is, I just stumbled across this and I was oh-so-jealous!

Junkfood Tee Shirt
This tee shirt is so 80's and vintage - I love this one! Plus, Junkfood is a complete celebrity tee shirt designer! Eat Junkfood here.

Ashley Tisdale Tee ShirtThis tee is a branding device for Ashley Tisdale's new album which features a song, He Said She Said - but the shirt is completely cool and if you're an HSM fan you will love it!

Rolling Stones Tee ShirtsYou've seen them on every celebrity, and when you put the words Anglo and vintage in one sentence, I can't get off of it!

The BeatlesOh la la, this is from Target!!! I was just browsing through a few websites to see if they had any cotton candy machines (don't ask why) and I stumbled across this amazing tee shirt section! Rocker chic is completely in this season, so don't resist. Plus, for this price ($6.99) it's more than just a steal!
They also had this "Abbey Road" tee, a classic Beatles statement.

Vintage BarbieThis is my last Target loving post, it's a Barbie Vintage tee shirt. I think I need this one. It's just SO FABULOUS!

Kitson: Love Is The DrugNot only was this shirt seen on people like the Olsen twins, but, it has been featured in several magazines!

Kitson LA
This girl is fabulous and I wish I was her. Not only are the colors of this tee shirt beyond amazing, but it also gives you a chance to play it up or down and accessorize in various ways.

I hope everyone enjoyed the tee shirt post! School's been going insane, being that I'm starting high school next year! OMG! And I'm also in my school play, OLiVER! We just tried out yesterday, but I'm not such a great singer, so I want a dancing role. Next weekend I'm going to Mexico with my sisters, so I will probably get a post in right before, and maybe at the hotel. I'll definitely post some pictures!

Yours till the sun shines,
Lama Dee

Oh, The Love of Randomness

So I've recently discovered that though I do not have a credit card nor will I have one anytime soon, I love online window shopping! It's so fun and it paints the perfect picture for when you actually do go out to the wonderful world of malls and big, fancy department stores. So, instead of going to big, fancy department stores I decided to find some fun, low key designers which are so much cooler!

Nahui Ollin Handmade HandbagsBefore you turn on my for going "save the earth" on you, these bags are simply amazing! They are each handmade out of recycled materials and they have a classic woven stitching make them have a more attractive pattern. I love them, and once you see the bags, you will recognize them on various celebrities. Get Nahui here.

The Necklace LadyI honestly think this woman is a goddess. She can make a fabulous necklace using any materials you give her - she should be one of the wonders of the world!

Be Accessorized

Leave some comments if you're as in LOVE with this stuff as me. Expect some more posts this week since this one was sort of short.

Jean-atize Me, Cap'n

After a longarse day of shopping today, I've realized that jeans are more complex than just the thought of "are these dark or light?"...so, being the psycho obsessed blogger than I am, I've decided to spend hours researching and trying to prevent others from having the same issues I had today. Though, I must admit, I did buy the most delightful pair of Lucky Brand Jeans.

K, HEREGOES!

TYPES (The Pictures are Below the Descriptions)

Cropped Jeans: cut just above the ankle
Wear with: flats or sandals; NOT SNEAKERS!!!

DON'T WEAR THEM IF: you have thick lower legs/ankles, if you're petiteCapri: somewhere between knees and mid calve
Wear with: delicate top, flowy blouse, sandals, SOME sneakers, flats, even boots (maybe)
DON'T WEAR THEM IF: you have thick lower legs/ankles, if you have lower curves because the snug fit will accentuate your hips too much
Boot-Cut: long, wear them an inch or two below belly button, snug on top and slight flare on bottom - most flattering on all body types
Wear with: most shoes work (especially boots)
DON'T WEAR THEM IF: they are extremely tight - the look would be thrown off
Flared: Similar to boot-cut; flares out near bottom, but has a wider flare than boot-cut
Wear with: Almost any shoe, as long as it isn't very little because then it will look like you don't
have feet; and for tops make sure that the shirt doesn't flare too much at the bottom because then your look becomes over the top
DON'T WEAR THEM IF: you have big hips, you're petite

Boyfriend Jeans: bagger, wide, loose
Wear with: something bummy and relaxing like a sweatshirt, sweat or tee shirt; for shoes wear sneakers or flip flops depending on the season
DON'T WEAR THEM IF: You're dressing up, you don't want to look bummy or larger than you are

Tapered: should have a lower rise, are tighter from waist to ankles
Wear with: A larger type because if you have a tight bottom you want a big top and vice versa
DON'T WEAR THEM IF: You have big hips, you have thick lower legs/ankles
Wide Leg: Not tight anywhere, fit more like slackes
Wear with: A tighter shirt or sleeveless blouse, a slim fit turtleneck
DON'T WEAR THEM IF: You're short, you are big on top and can't wear tighter shirts

Stovepipe/Straight: straight up and bottom

Wear with: A flowy shirt, tunic or even a shirtdress; for shoes flats, pretty Vans or thin heels
DON'T WEAR THEM IF: You have big hips (this is a more boyish pant)

Skinny: tight fit below knees, accentuates legs
Wear With: Something that will cover the beginning of your jeans; flat shoes
DON'T WEAR THEM IF: You have bigger hips, you have bigger legs

POCKETS
Large and/or Close to Side Seams: Make Hips Appear Wider
Small and/or High: Makes Your Butt Seem Bigger and Rounder
Flaps: Makes Your Buttox (I LOVE THAT WORD) Seem Bigger
Low: Makes Your Butt Seem Saggy and Low
Centered, Symmetrical Pockets are best

WASHES

Dark: deepest shade of denim, best for sophisticated, dressy nights

Light:
lightest shade of denim, almost white in some cases

Faded:
Looks like they have been washed a lot

Sandblasted: Look worn in; can make your legs look slimmer - the majority of the pant is lighter than the other half; the middle of the thighs-to-lower-knee area is lighter than the rest of the pant (and yes, I looked it up, they really do blast the denim with sand!)

Destroyed:
Usually have rips or holes

Whiskers:Little white lines appear right under front pockets

I hope that this helped everyone, comment to tell me it did! Oh, and I found these that would look great with any jeans you wear...it's pretty random, but I just couldn't resist!
